The ever-dutiful 2025 Mazda CX-90 knows exactly what families need: a vehicle that fits them just right. Nowhere is this more evident than in its nine trim levels.
Trim Levels of the 2025 Mazda CX-90
3.3 Turbo Select
The “3.3” in the 3.3 Turbo Select refers to the e-Skyactiv G 3.3 Turbo engine, which makes 280 horsepower and features a mild hybrid system for better efficiency and low-speed throttle response. On regular gas, you can expect around 24 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
3.3 Turbo Preferred
The 3.3 Turbo Preferred keeps the base model’s powertrain but amps the comfort considerably. Notable upgrades include a seven-seat layout (optional), a power sunroof, heated front seats, a 12.3-inch touchscreen display, real leather (in black or greige), a power-adjustable passenger seat, USB-C ports (including a set for the third row), and second-row window shades.
3.3 Turbo Premium Sport
As the name suggests, this trim adds premium features and a touch of sportiness. On the premium side, you’ll find a big glass roof, a kick-activated liftgate, a Bose sound system, a larger 12.3-inch digital cluster, a head-up display, built-in navigation, and power lumbar support for the driver’s seat.
3.3 Turbo Premium Plus
The 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus is exclusively a seven-seater. It also gets Nappa leather (in black or white), heated and cooled front seats, heated second-row seats, and a 150-volt power outlet in the cargo area. It also turns up the safety tech in a big way, with 360-degree View Monitor, Smart Brake Support, and Front Cross Traffic Alert all coming standard.
PHEV Preferred
This model’s highlight is its powertrain, which pairs a 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and a 17.8 kWh battery. Together, they output 323 horsepower, 369 lb-ft of torque, and a towing capacity of 3,500 pounds. As a plug-in hybrid, it can travel about 25 miles on electric power alone, and when running on gas, it’ll return an EPA-estimated 25 mpg combined.
PHEV Premium Sport
Think of this model as the plug-in hybrid version of the 3.3 Turbo Premium Sport.
PHEV Premium Plus
This model carries over all the comforts of the 3.3 Turbo Premium Plus. The big change is in the powertrain.
3.3 Turbo S Premium
The 3.3 Turbo S Premium features the most powerful mass-production engine developed by Mazda: a turbocharged 3.3-liter straight-six with 340 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. So, if you like your three-row family hauler with some fire in its belly, this is the one to get.
3.3 Turbo S Premium Plus
The range-topping 3.3 Turbo S Premium Plus stands apart from the rest with a six-passenger layout, specially styled interior, and second-row ventilation.
